Whether you are pregnant or not every women needs some
kind of pampering at the spa, everyday a women goes through mental and physical
stress and the only way to beat is a massage at a holistic spa. During
pregnancy too spa can be so relieving and will definitely do some good to you.
There are basically no risk involved in getting a spa done when you are
pregnant. A pregnant women most often suffers from back aches, shoulder
tightness, ankle swelling, cramps in the calves all these can be treated by a
good massage. But before you start the spa make sure you inform the therapist that you are
pregnant and by how many weeks.
Going for a spa would be best in your second trimester as the first trimester
morning sickness can make you uncomfortable. Most of the holistic Spa's that we
see or go to have some very soothing music and they also have some super
aromatic fragrances in normal times these aromas make you feel great but if you
are pregnant and in the first trimester these aromas can cause morning sickness
and instead of returning relaxed you will come back feeling sick and even more tired.
This is the reason i mentioned start your spa only in the second trimester when
you are through morning sickness and more relaxed.
When taking your spa make sure you are seated or lying down completely relaxed
and feeling no kind of strain anywhere in your body. In case lying down is not
comfortable ask the therapist to give you a sofa to rest on. Opt for an
aromatic oil instead of a cream or lotion, oils like lavender, rosemary, ylang
ylang, will not only make your skin soft they will also help relax your aching
limbs.
Creams and lotions should be avoided as in many cases women skin tends to get
sensitive and these creams can lead to unnecessary break outs or rash.
While getting your head and neck done make sure, the therapist is gentle and
soft , while getting your back done do not lean too much on your stomach and
when she massages your back make sure the pressure she is giving is fine ad not
causing any kind of discomfort. Getting your feet pressed is like a huge blessing,
as your poor foot has been carrying all the weight around and a soothing
massage will definitely help calm your aching calves and ankles. While getting
your foot spa please tell the therapist not to oil your foot souls and to
massage the souls without any oil or cream or lotion as even after they do wipe
your feet clean any kind of oil or cream can make your foot souls slippery and
increase your chances of falling.
Spa is a wonderful way to feel rejuvenated and has no harm at all so go ahead
and enjoy a lovely day at your favorite spa, and also do enjoy a cup of herbal
tea that they will serve you green teas or herbal teas are very good again for
relaxing and rejuvenating of the mind and body. Pampering yourself is every
women's right because you are worth it.
